Blepharitis is an inflammation of the eyelid margins due to an overgrowth of the normal bacteria that grow there.  It can also be caused by the demodex mite that populate the eyelash follicles.

Severe cases of blepharitis are treated with special eyelid wipes that kill the demodex mites and topical antibiotic ointment applied to the lid margins at bedtime.

However, many of the blepharitis cases we see are mild in nature and cause low grade eye irritation.  For these patients we prescribe Blephadex Eyelid Wipes.  The clean up the bacterial debris that collects on the eyelashes and also kill all of the demodex mites.  You don’t need a prescription to use these wipes and they make your eyes feel great.  We recommend using them right before bedtime.
